Acts of the Apostles [2:44-47]

And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.

Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people.

And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved. [1]

  1. How far we’ve fallen from the new testament model of church.

    • Thanks Tony. I began posting segments of Acts this past summer but stopped when I came to these verses. All of my posts since then until now have centered on the great divide within Christianity and the many false models of “church” which these current verses from Acts illustrate perfectly.

Christianity in general has certainly fallen off a cliff regarding the original model. It is why I continually state that there is a completely different “Christianity” comprising the vast majority in which the Lord Jesus has absolutely no authorship or control. The Lord, however, still has a powerful remnant in this fallen world shining the Light of His Truth.

The last verses of Acts 2 clearly reveal a giant contrast between the Real and the Unreal and brightly exposes the darkness, fakery, and the many adopted false models of Christianity that look nothing like the original.

      Be blessed my brother.

      • This is why we see the Lord standing outside of the last church mentioned in the book of Revelation, Laodicea, knocking. He calls to anyone willing to listen. Laodicea comes from 2 Greek words meaning people’s opinions.

        • Right you are. It also contains the clear implication of self-rule, in that those who rule have insulated themselves from God’s control and necessary rebuke.

Real New Testament Christianity 101 teaches full surrender to the authority of the Lord Jesus. He is the ONLY one who ever lived a perfect life, never sinned, and then incredibly, offered up His perfect life as the only possible sacrifice for our sins, if we so choose. He is the ONLY one who has made a way, who is the WAY, and who knows how to get us free so we may truly live.

How strange is it then, that so many so-called Christians and Christian leaders refuse His authority? He is the ONLY one who deserves authority and control. The fakers have substituted their own control and thus keep people in religious bondage.

The simple fact is that the Lord’s teachings have been shanghaied in part by the imposters who make up the bulk of what is termed “Christianity” in this world, who use some of His curriculum and reject the rest, and have certainly rejected Him. The only opinion that matters to these interlopers is their own.

  2. Thank you for your words of encouragement. Gary
