The following eye-opening polling research from Barna.com reveals exactly why American Christianity is in such great need of a Great Awakening:

.

“It is striking how pervasive some of these beliefs are among people who are actively engaged in the Christian faith,” Brooke Hempell, senior vice president of research for Barna, says.

“What stood out most to us was how stark the shift was between the Boomer and Gen-Xer generations,” Hempell remarks. “We expected Millennials to be most influenced by other worldviews, but the most dramatic increase in support for these ideals occurs with the generation before them. It’s no surprise, then, that the impact we see today in our social fabric is so pervasive, given that these ideas have been taking root for two generations.”

George Barna has been doing this for several years now. He got my attention about a dozen years back when his research revealed that traditional Christianity as we knew it was in the process of being transformed into something much better, organic, and closer to early Church practices and beliefs. He said then, again, roughly twelve plus years ago, that trend research revealed within 20-25 years more Christians would be meeting in house churches instead of traditional church buildings. We’re halfway there.

Thus, there is lot going on “off the radar” and we must always be aware not to judge what the Lord is doing through what we see or what receives the lion’s share of media and financial attention. It is clear by the research referenced in this post, which is only two months old, that ultra-organized, traditional Christianity is increasingly getting into bad stuff and being heavily influenced by sinister outside influences. The reason for this is always a distance from the Lord Jesus and a resurgence of deceptive opposition against Him through the few in religious control who have embraced alternative and personal agendas.

      Blessings to you.
