REPLACING RUTH BADER GINSBURG WITH AMY CONEY BARRETT: EPIC BATTLE BREWING?
The President’s enemies know they have no chance of removing Donald Trump from office. They will possibly impeach him anyway. This ongoing war is moving toward a nuclear showdown.
Their survival is at stake. They have never faced such a foe. Trump was hit hard from the very beginning back in June of 2015 when he announced he was running. They thought they had him at the start. No one should be allowed to speak that way! But their initial effort failed. What would have easily destroyed another had no effect on him. Where another would have quickly joined the personal apology brigade and weakly succumbed to anti-American PC culture, Trump was unfazed. Then he did it again. There was more howling. Surely he was done in forever. Then he did it yet again. There were more attacks. Nothing. No reversal on his part. Only forward. They kept trying to get him. They could not understand why their efforts were not working. Anyone else would have caved.
That was three and a half years ago. They managed to destroy others. This was especially the case with Sarah Palin. The livid Left absolutely hated her and turned their full-on vitriol against the Alaska governor in the worse way. She kept her dignity. I wrote about this in my post Selling Free Speech Birthright for a Bowl of Donation Stew. I highly recommend it. While she was certainly unjustifiably slammed for having the audacity to stand up for America and her Christian Pro-Life views, her most difficult battle was with a clear lack of support from powerful political people who decided to let her take all the hits and thus protect themselves. They essentially threw her to the wolves. Despite this, the hardest thing for her was all the compromised sissified church leaders who failed to come to her defense. But what else is new? America has been plagued for decades by compromised sissified church leaders who self neuter as part of their paradigm.
My regular readers know I have used the following verse on other occasions, yet once again, it is quite timely:
“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.” [Matthew 23:13]
These are the people who refuse to make the hard calls and put themselves in jeopardy. They would rather protect themselves and not be spiritual targets. They have no guts for spiritual battle. They take the easy way out. They choose a faithless no backbone religious form of Christianity that represents no threat to the enemy. The devil doesn’t bother with them. They are rarely or never under attack.
The Lord Jesus, however, was always under attack. It proves He was bringing something real and substantial that would shine a light on evil and corruption. Unrepentant sinners hate being thus exposed. They want to sin within society, have their sin accepted, and have their sin seen as not sin by society. This is especially true for “righteous sinners” within outwardly religious constructs whose rebellion against God is not perceived by their followers. They don’t appreciate being outed. The guilty don’t like being exposed. They absolutely hate coming under conviction. Corruption prefers the dark.
This outing of the unperceived religious deception phenomena followed the Lord everywhere He went. He didn’t necessarily intentionally shine His light on such people but His light shined always nonetheless. If one would be around Him they would get shined on whether they wanted to be shined on or not. All seemed to be quiet and peaceful until He spoke some otherwise obvious, time-honored, and righteous word of truth and the next thing you know some dingbat went nuts. They raised a giant ruckus. They agitated on end. All manner of unholy cock-a-doodle-do came raging forth. Some of those dingbats were possessed. Some of the current dingbats must also be possessed. Maybe this is why exorcists, like so many other professionals, are currently seeing their employment opportunities abounding.
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” Edmund Burke
This is what happens when evil people gain power. Because some of these people are elected, it means the people who elect them are likely seriously deceived. Machine politics exists to fool and trick and get votes anyway possible. There are no rules. The Founding Fathers of this country expressed disdain at the emerging power of political parties. The evil inherent in this process reared its ugly head long ago and it only got worse over time. The big money boys reached a point in which it was fairly simple to buy politicians. The true story is a shocker. Much of American history is the result of big money colluding with government to have their way by buying elected representatives. The true art of successful under-the-table politics, emerging from proverbial smoke-filled rooms, is knowing how to practice it while simultaneously appearing innocent, righteous, and above board. This gives us another look into how the Pharisees operated and why the Lord was often on their case.
BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU
Today’s tech giants are not so different from yesterday’s Robber barons. They control much more than Americans realize. Their surface agenda is the same old unrighteous grab for power and wealth. Their hidden agenda, however, goes beyond the scope of mere business. They generate cultural mores. They tell people what to believe and what to reject. They have perfected what it takes to succeed on their terms. They hide slyly behind the media curtain and most people are unaware of their presence. This is certainly a form of willing mass obtuseness. As part of their deceptive practice, they control powerful politicians. The process is fairly easy. They tell them what they must do and then bless them financially. Simple. They start with like minded people. They build them up, give them a platform, and insure their success. As long as they do their bidding the politicians thereof stay in power. This explains the existence of so many ridiculous, empty-headed candidates throughout history. It also explains why certain politicians insist on things damaging to the country.
Wise people see the strings. This archetypal exemplar is currently bursting forth at present as the Democrat clown car of presidential aspirants fills to overflowing as did the Republican clown car four years ago. Based on past examples and present policy positions, some of these people apparently do not care about eternity, or heaven, or an afterlife, or their soul, or what God might think of their behavior. Also, if they happen to gain success and allow themselves to be used by the political establishment, they often can’t get back out. Egress would portend ruination. In this they sell their souls.
Upper level politicians have very big supporters to answer to. Most would not be in power otherwise. They must obey at all costs. They reach a point in which they no longer care about the country they claim to serve, if they ever did. What you are seeing at present is a fight for the very soul of America. Three years ago the bad guys pretty much had it all sewed up. But then much of America said, as did so many young people half a century ago who refused to likely destroy their lives by entering the quagmire of Viet Nam, “Hell no, we won’t go.” They were done with the slow destruction of the country and decided to fight back. It took awhile, but enough Americans finally became aware and awakened, and claimed ownership. They decided their children and grandchildren were worth it.
Many Christians insist that God has chosen Donald Trump for such a time as this. I do not necessarily doubt this. Self righteous holier-than-thou Christians do not like the concept, however, and they align themselves with the anti-Christian virtue signaling social justice warriors of the left who deem themselves moral stalwarts. They see the sins of Trump yet fail to see their own sins. Because they are anti-Christian they never heard the many teachings of the Lord that describe them perfectly, such as:
“Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.” [Matthew 7:3-5]
People who are not Biblically illiterate know the Bible is full of stories about sinful people being chosen by God for His purposes. Let’s not forget what the apostle Paul was before his conversion. Let’s not forget what all real Christians were before their born again experience. Spiritual redemption demands humility. It demands that we subject ourselves to the light all the way to the DNA level.
Of course, sinners must stop sinning and get on the side of righteousness before the Lord will actually use them in real ministry. But the pool of candidates He chooses from is initially a pool of sinners. Where else is He going to get anyone? The self righteous who refuse to acknowledge their sin are the worst. He does not choose them. Being chosen as a national leader in the ancient world was a lesser calling. The bar was not as high. But the calling was necessary. The Lord always responds to the prayers of His people and sometimes He must choose from without. And it is often the case that those He chooses from without later gain entrance. Being used of the Lord indicates agreement with the Lord.
And here we are. Both sides are digging in. The trenches are dug, the barbwire is all strung out, and the machine gun nests are ready. Cue the fog machines. This is war.
Although the mainstream media refuses to report the truth, there are clear indications that the career of Ruth Bader Ginsburg is essentially over. She will have to be replaced. This is the greatest horror story yet for the Democrats. What are they going to do when innocent unborn babies gain their Constitutional rights? When Justice Anthony Kennedy decided to retire last summer the rebuilding of the Supreme Court began. President Trump already had a list of 25 candidates made up before the presidential election that he would choose from. Three names rose to the top: Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge, and Amy Coney Barrett. Of these three, Kavanaugh and Kethledge were the final candidates. Of those two I favored Raymond Kethledge.
Though I had no way of knowing, it appeared outwardly that Kavanaugh’s long history within the Beltway projected him as a Washington insider possibly influenced by concessionary forces. Kethledge, on the other hand, was an outsider and strong Constitutionalist with some Libertarian principles favoring individual rights. Though the Democrats would reject whoever Trump nominated regardless and vote as a bloc in opposition, I thought Kavanaugh’s subsequent nomination was reasonably safe and would get through relatively easily in comparison to other candidates. That is in fact how it should have been and would have been under normal circumstances. But alas, these are not normal times, and thank goodness for that.
I said at the time last July that I thought President Trump might be saving Amy Coney Barrett to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Who could write a more compelling story? It’s poetic. You could never find two greater opposites. Ginsburg, 85, is a feminist non-religiously observant Jew, a loved and long-admired icon of the liberal left with an extensive history of judicial achievement. Barrett, born in 1972, is a Roman Catholic with conservative traditional values. She not only has a Catholic pedigree but is associated with a Charismatic group that actually believes in and practices the gifts of the Spirit, divine healing, and, Aghast! Speaking in tongues! Oh No! Run for hills!
This political war ramping up before us between two polar opposites, compared to politics as usual, denotes the rushing clash and flashing swords of old school hand-to-hand combat. Politically speaking, in getting to the heart of the matter, it parallels Lincoln, early in The War of Northern Aggression, getting rid of status quo slow walking General George McClellan, a great organizer but lousy warrior who preferred building an army and squatting around in large camps during wartime, and eventually choosing Ulysses S. Grant who favored hard charging, risk, and shooting up the countryside. This is Omar Bradley meets George S. Patton. It is timid Dick Nixon meeting fearless JFK. It can also be construed as Luke Skywalker finally facing off against Darth Vader and David taking on Goliath rolled into one. It is War of the Worlds. It’s like pouring gasoline on napalm or driving a giant dump truck at high speed with no brakes through a nitroglycerin plant.
Could Amy Coney Barrett stand up to the barrage of hate unleashed against her? Could she handle it the classy way Sarah Palin did? Would her friends and family even let her go through it? Would President Trump decide he would not subject her to such outright vengeance? Because she is Charismatic, would the Roman Catholic Church support her? Would other Christians reject her?
A great many Catholics are Democrats. Catholics assisted in putting the former pro-abortion president into office. Maybe they would like to redeem themselves.
Regarding Catholics on the Supreme Court fighting to end abortion, however, that is a total non-starter. We have had as many as six Catholics on the Court at one time not long ago, along with a Catholic Speaker of the House (Pelosi) and Catholic Vice President (Biden), and they never did squat. Kavanaugh is also a Catholic. The Supreme Court is largely comprised of Catholics and Jews. Would replacing a Jew with yet another Catholic make any difference? Would that be un-PC?
It could be that the Constitutional intent of the Supreme Court has been superseded by a check on the real check against power and abuse which has disallowed the proper corrective. Those who people the Court, due to narrow elitist qualification demands, cannot possibly reflect a true cross section of the country. For example, no Spirit-filled person has ever gotten within a million miles of membership. But Amy Coney Barrett is more than qualified according to the traditional, high brow legal standards. Since Donald Trump has already become the greatest Pro-Life President in history and continually vows to Make America Great Again, wouldn’t having Amy Coney Barrett on the Court be yet another sign of the Great Awakening? No other president would ever have the courage to do it.
The Notorious RBG will not go easily though and will continue to be supported for as long as possible. She has served her country on the Supreme Court for a quarter century and deserves the honor and dignity that demands. She has also suffered several major health issues and according to some reports, is currently fighting for life. I hope she recovers. For the prayer warriors out there, I ask that much prayer goes forth on her behalf. We also need to pray for Amy Coney Barrett in this regard if she ends up being chosen as a Supreme Court nominee at some point.
Remember, the Christian spiritual battle is never against people. It is, however, against evil spiritual forces and anti-Gospel belief systems and ideologies that oppose the Lord Jesus and are inherently detrimental for people, especially if they adversely affect their lives and eternal destinations. We are commanded to love.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. [Ephesians 6:12]
